As the schools and colleges are shut in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, it seems that children’s education has come to a halt.
However, some youngsters didn’t lose hope in this crisis times and proved how education is the right of everyone.
Some students of Delhi University and other universities across India came together to educate poor kids via the internet during the coronavirus lockdown.
Teach From Home, an initiative of the World Youth Council (WYC) aims to give quality education to poor kids who live in slum areas.
These college students who are a part of the project taught one to four children at a time for three days a week.
Even though being college students, these students instilled hope among the underprivileged kids that technology can be used for the right reasons even in these testing times.
These college students who are related to the project said that they loved the volunteering work as it made them feel good and they wanted to give back to the society.
The project began in April 2020 and has now 2,000 volunteers who are providing quality education to 2,500 children via online methods such as Google Meet, WhatsApp and YouTube.
Such students show that there are good people still in the world who want to make the society a better place to live in
