As a result, the vaccine developer saw its shares jump by 9.58 per cent on Tuesday. On Monday, the company’s shares rose as much as 17.8 per cent. Moderna received significant funding from the US government to develop its vaccine and was part of Trump administration’s vaccine initiative called ‘Operation Warp Speed’.</span><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The United States’ top infectious disease scientist Anthony Fauci hailed the announcement and called it “stunningly impressive.” Fauci told AFP, “The idea that we have a 94.5 percent effective vaccine is stunningly impressive. It is really a spectacular result that I don’t think anybody had anticipated would be this good.”</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Not only Moderna’s shares but US stocks also jumped nearing a record 30,000 on the Dow as the news comes amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained more than 400 points to close at an all-time high of 28,880. The broader S&P 500 also set a record high above 3,619 points, while in Toronto the S&P/TSX Composite Index gained more than 200 points or 1.3 per cent to close at 16,889. Industries that have been the hardest hit by the pandemic, including the energy sector and anything to do with travel and tourism, rebounded most. The price of a barrel of oil gained about three per cent to $41.24 US a barrel.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The news caused the stocks to soar as Moderna appears well on its way toward grabbing an Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration for mRNA-1273, perhaps before the end of the year. So, if this timeline holds, Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine may be ready for widespread public distribution sometime in January 2021. The company also said that it has approximately 20 million doses ready to ship within the US by the end of 2020. Another 500 million to 1 billion doses of the vaccines are expected to be manufactured for global distribution over the course of 2021.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Experts believe that the announcement sent stock markets soaring as a vaccine development is being seen as “a beginning to the end” of the pandemic.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Yesterday, Asian stocks had also hit a record high as vaccine optimism and strong economic data from China and Japan outshone worries about rising coronavirus cases.</span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Zoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01410801592854242780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562210503264653825.post-77603106176332774652020-11-13T08:37:00.002-08:002020-11-13T08:37:49.890-08:00Former Bigg Boss Kannada season 7 contestant and senior journalist Ravi Belagere passes away<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpuMrZSEKMu8D89PBQRE_muXlEUI0r_8qkyTo2EaxoP3Z7zqBTx6cHiN-dsIHv1U7Op_u5ID8_qI9lvVKZaV0W9gMHDngeaSfm9k2qDlV7-XElidQfaydGIxlXPKufmd9OXbZwTwjaxIJ0/s1200/ravi-b-Facebook.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpuMrZSEKMu8D89PBQRE_muXlEUI0r_8qkyTo2EaxoP3Z7zqBTx6cHiN-dsIHv1U7Op_u5ID8_qI9lvVKZaV0W9gMHDngeaSfm9k2qDlV7-XElidQfaydGIxlXPKufmd9OXbZwTwjaxIJ0/s320/ravi-b-Facebook.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa recalled Belagere's works as a journalist and writer. “I pray to the almighty to give courage to his family and fans to bear the loss,” he posted on the micro-blogging site.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">ALSO READ: <a href="https://www.blogger.com/u/4/blog/post/edit/preview/562210503264653825/5302789259481409788" target="_blank"><span style="color: red;">Rajasthan Police Constable Recruitment 2020: Exam centre information released</span></a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Senior journalist and former Bigg Boss Kannada season 7 contestant Ravi Belagere passed away after suffering a heart attack in the wee hours of Friday. It’s nice to do work which takes you back to your training. Working with him is a lot like that because of the process that he has. He doesn’t over-brief his actors. He wants their performances to be instinctive and their reactions to be as natural as possible.”</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">“People might think, ‘Arey! Dada doesn’t tell us this or that. We don’t know when he will shoot.’ But that’s a part of his process because he wants as pure an emotion to come out. That’s the film he has made. Such a pure, clean film. This all happened because people have blind faith in him,” the actor added.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Ludo has been bankrolled by T-Series and Anurag Basu Productions.</span></p>Zoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01410801592854242780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562210503264653825.post-67181679402509410452020-08-06T06:44:00.000-07:002020-08-06T06:44:14.305-07:00Sameer Sharma dies by suicide see instagram post for more<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

The poetry shared by Sameer read, "I built my pyre and slept on it and with my fire it was lit And all that was me I burned in it I killed my dream to wake up from it Now my dream is gone and I with it I woke up to ashes and I was in it I took what was left and left it in a stream And hoped my ashes this time have a better dream."<br />
Sameer even shared a post on mental health and wrote, "Read this if you cared about Sushant Singh Rajput."<br />
The incident about Sameer's death came to light when the building's watchman peeped through the kitchen window and saw him hanging. He then alerted the other society members. Later, the society members informed the police who rushed to the spot and took Sharma to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, another official said.<br />

Immortalised by the numerous childhood stories like the Aesop's fables, tigers have captured the imagination of every Indian child. The biggest amongst the cat family, these felines are popularly characterised by their muscular body, loud roar, and stripped skin.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tigers have dominated the wild ecosystems in India for hundreds of thousands of years. The earliest remains of tiger fossils date back to more than two million years ago. These beautiful beasts have evolved to swim and acquired a large body size along the way. These wild cats play an important role in balancing several ecosystems, and therefore, their conservation has always been of prime importance across the world. It is said in the 1900s, around 100,000 tigers roamed worldwide. But in recent decades, much of the wild tiger population rapidly declined due to hunting and habitat loss.</div><div><br /></div><div>Earlier, there existed about nine subspecies of tigers, but now, only six of them are present on Earth—the Bengal tiger, South China tiger, Indochinese tiger, Sumatran tiger, and the Siberian tiger. The Bengal tiger accounts for the highest numbers, forming 50% of the total tiger population worldwide. The Royal Bengal tiger weighs about 330 kgs, while the Siberian tiger is about 13 feet long and weighs 660 pounds, which is equivalent to roughly 300 kgs. The Sumatran tiger is said to be the smallest among these subspecies, weighing up to 310 pounds (140 kgs).</div><div><br /></div><div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZPD6TAftc5hkGxriNfAhAP056A6rxLNeL9Ba2Y-8ZlXnslM3XNSCDHfcKSNKACGHqO2ke04BrqKXpUvYMgA7kjrZSSPbZXhd1IL3pccaS3z4PoRBdLyV0KCQV4TFjgxlKEzXAFKQGo3fZ/s400/images+%252814%2529.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZPD6TAftc5hkGxriNfAhAP056A6rxLNeL9Ba2Y-8ZlXnslM3XNSCDHfcKSNKACGHqO2ke04BrqKXpUvYMgA7kjrZSSPbZXhd1IL3pccaS3z4PoRBdLyV0KCQV4TFjgxlKEzXAFKQGo3fZ/s320/images+%252814%2529.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>While lions have been dubbed as the kings of the jungle, tigers take the crown of being the largest in the cat family, with their enormous muscle mass also making them heavier than lions. On the occasion of International Tiger Day, which is celebrated every year on July 29, The Weather Channel brings to you some of the most amazing facts about these big wild cats.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tiger stripes are unique—like human fingerprints</div><div>Tigerskin is extremely unique and was among the highly valued trade commodity in the 19th century due to the bold patterns of stripes on the animal’s body. Tigerskin displays mainly two colours—black and orange, derived from pigments eumelanin and pheomelanin, respectively. The production of the orange colour is caused by the gene SLC45A2. Just like human fingerprints are never the same, the stripe patterns are unique to each wild cat. And that is how surveyors distinguish between two different tigers during the census. The gorgeous stripes run across the width of their body, and it is not just fur which displays this stripe feature, but the tiger’s skin as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tigers have webbed toes</div><div>Unlike most cats, tigers love swimming and playing in the water. In fact, such is their love for water that they seem to have adopted a semi-aquatic lifestyle by living around the water bodies. They have been observed to enjoy staying in water for longer durations, and are excellent swimmers. This in-built talent is enabled by their webbed toes, which makes it easy for them to push a greater volume of water. A surprising fact about these apex predators is that they can easily swim across rivers at a stretch several kilometres.</div></div>Zoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01410801592854242780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562210503264653825.post-121929633738445452020-07-29T03:34:00.001-07:002020-07-29T03:34:56.680-07:00Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet on Stuart Broad’s 500 Test wickets wins hearts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe_BGj1qCj690AbmkFlKm_FFu5NI1l41xcPz8Oan6jdWG5NeusYkkbyxEn1qdPCm825jIczGMWnUQVwtWXkw17zR0g1Q0WvRLR5rb8I_rDzxZhvMZddfJNwSeXr702z94Sz67ZP8bWZQUw/s715/images+%252812%2529.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="402" data-original-width="715" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe_BGj1qCj690AbmkFlKm_FFu5NI1l41xcPz8Oan6jdWG5NeusYkkbyxEn1qdPCm825jIczGMWnUQVwtWXkw17zR0g1Q0WvRLR5rb8I_rDzxZhvMZddfJNwSeXr702z94Sz67ZP8bWZQUw/s320/images+%252812%2529.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>England vs West Indies: Sachin Tendulkar, who had earlier backed Stuart Broad to come good in the second Test, said that the pacer was out on a mission and congratulated the England side for their “emphatic series win”.<div><br /></div><div>Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has been keenly following the England vs West Indies three-match Test series, heaped praise on England fast bowler Stuart Broad for becoming the second England bowler after James Anderson to claim 500 Test wickets. on Day 5, Broad dismissed West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite in 14th over of the West Indies innings to complete the milestone. The aim of marking the World Nature Conservation Day is to save our trees, water and other resources. </div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Reducing dependence on fossil fuels: This is the need of the hour. By reducing dependence on fuels like diesel and petrol, we can greatly help reducing carbon footprints. </li><li>Avoid hoarding: Most of the time hoarding leads to wastage. What is required is we should buy need-based items be it food or any other thing. This will certainly reduce the wastage of resources.</li><li> Avoiding single-use plastic: Plastic has emerged as one of the major pollutants of the environment. And single-use plastic is one of them. The single-use plastics like polythene bags not only choke our drains but also pollute the groundwater table. To protect our nature, our first priority should be to avoid single-use plastic. </li><li> Planting trees and increasing forest cover: As we all know, trees and forests are necessary for our survival as they provide us with food and oxygen, the need of the hour is to plant more trees, and increase forest cover. Deforestation on a big scale for housing and industries are posing huge challenges for humankind in terms of global warming. </li><li>Judicious use of water resources: Just like any other resource, water is an essential part of our life. With the sharp decline in groundwater table due to over-extraction and wastage, several cities across the world have faced an acute shortage of water. In 2018, South African city Cape Town was forced to declare 'Day Zero' to restrict the city's water supply due to shortage. The need of the hour is to avoid water wastage and preserve this precious natural resource for our future generations</li></ul></div></div>Zoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01410801592854242780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562210503264653825.post-45409277355175259802020-07-28T09:41:00.001-07:002020-07-28T09:41:29.831-07:00Sophie Turner And Joe Jonas Welcome Baby Girl<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-U4egVhjPca1K1Zebzu9GSYp0jL-QId6mpn1Gz09AZE9MS2tHOV6UhPJ2h4JJ9xBfd5rLsJldJ3djncE82XlTevrwOSRS7H3-v6tSTsQXVOc2UjEv5Mo9EXdlqKMfnibMNUrHrlPYPt9L/s554/images+%25283%2529.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="554" data-original-width="554" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-U4egVhjPca1K1Zebzu9GSYp0jL-QId6mpn1Gz09AZE9MS2tHOV6UhPJ2h4JJ9xBfd5rLsJldJ3djncE82XlTevrwOSRS7H3-v6tSTsQXVOc2UjEv5Mo9EXdlqKMfnibMNUrHrlPYPt9L/s320/images+%25283%2529.jpeg" /></a></div>"The couple is already obsessed and can't stop gloating about their new addition," said a source close to Sophie and Joe<div><div>Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas got married last year</div><div>The couple hasn't announced the news officially yet</div><div>Sophie and Joe's fans congratulated them on social media</div><div>New Delhi: It's a girl for Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, reports international media. Earlier this month, Pakistan, too banned PUBG on the grounds of addictive nature of the game that is detrimental to the player's health. - Is PUBG Set to Be Banned in India? Gamers Are Scared After 275 Chinese Apps Are on the Radar<br />
New Delhi: Days after banning 59 Chinese applications over national security concerns, the government on Monday banned another 47 Chinese apps and is further planning to ban 275 more such apps, speculations are rife. Also Read - Is PUBG Set to Be Banned in India? Gamers Are Scared After 275 Chinese Apps Are on the Radar<br />
As per an ET report, the new list consists of 275 apps that can face the wrath of the government. Sources have said that the government is examining the list of over 250 Chinese apps that are under scanner for violation of national security and user privacy<br />
One of these apps is PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) which is extremely popular in India. In India alone, the app boasts of over 175 million downloads, however, the app has often been criticised for its addictive nature and blamed for suicides. However, the government is considering a ban on the battle royale format game over data security concerns<br />
Back in 2017, PlayerUnknown's Battleground was initially made available for Microsoft Windows via the Steam store. The game was developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole.<br />
<br />
However, later, the Korean developer partnered with China's biggest gaming company which is Tencent, to enter the gaming market in China. Tencent Games is a part of Tencent Holdings, which is a Chinese multinational conglomerate. Tencent was the one to introduce the mobile version of PUBG MOBILE, and that somehow makes it a Chinese app.<br />
Gamers are scared<br />
These speculations have come like a nightmare for PUBG lovers and gamers who are drowning their sorrow in memes:<br />
Last month, India had banned 59 Chinese mobile applications including the widely-used social media platforms such as TikTok, WeChat, and Helo within view of the threat to the nation's sovereignty and security.<br />
<br />
Earlier this month, Pakistan, too banned PUBG on the grounds of addictive nature of the game that is detrimental to the player's health.</div>

But if that means I will have to return, then it’s best I do my classes in-person," says Sharma, 22, who has taken a ₹15 lakh loan for the two-year course in accounting and taxation. “I hope there’s still space for me to be accommodated in the physical classes. I have heard that if cases continue to rise, all classes will go online. I’m very worried and confused."</div><div><br /></div><div>As students across the world contemplate what their fall semester will look like, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency on 6 July limited options for international students. Over 250,000 Indian students will now have to decide whether they will attend in-person classes in the middle of a pandemic or study online while sitting in their home country. Students who have enrolled in universities that have already decided to go entirely online won’t be allowed to enter the US.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>“Active students currently in the US enrolled in such programs must depart the country or take other measures, such as transferring to a school with in-person instruction to remain in lawful status," states a release from ICE’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program. “If not, they may face immigration consequences including, but not limited to, the initiation of removal proceedings."</div><div><br /></div><div>The move will put additional pressure on universities to open its premises amid growing concerns that the virus is increasingly affecting young adults.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sumeet Jain, co-founder of Yocket, a platform that guides students to study abroad, believes most universities will now consider opening campuses. Even institutions that had said they would go completely online will now have to consider a hybrid or on-campus model to retain students. “I don't see any university being able to take that big blow of not having international students on campus because that would mean hurting revenues," he says. “If there’s a hybrid model, students who are currently doing courses online from India may be able to go back. But again, we have to wait and see how they flesh out the rules," says Jain.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Close to 23% of colleges plan to offer a hybrid model, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and Northwestern. The ICE guidance has given them a short deadline of 1 August to outline their plans. Indian students at institutions like Harvard, where the coursework has shifted completely online, are shocked at the decision. “I have no idea what I’m supposed to do now. I can’t tell my parents how stressed I am because they will get worried. Here are a few online platforms, websites and resources that can help you earn money online</b></font>.</div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">1. Freelancing</font></div><div><font size="4">Freelancing has always been a popular way to earn money online and the Internet has many options. There are several websites offering freelance tasks for people with varying skills. All you need to do is to create an account, browse through the listings, and apply for the task that suits you. Some websites may even require you to create a personal listing with the details of your skillset, so that interested clients can contact you directly. Outfiverr.com, upwork.com, freelancer.com, and worknhire.com are some websites that provide freelance jobs. You can earn anywhere between $5 and $100 through these websites.</font></div><div><font size="4"><br /></font></div><div><font size="4">But remember, you will only be paid once you complete your task and it has been approved by your client. This may even mean revising the work several times unless requirements of your clients are not met. Some sites may ask you to set up a PayPal account, as most clients prefer to make payments through it.</font></div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">2. Starting your own website</font></div><div><font size="4">There is enough material available online to help you put together your own website. This includes choosing the domain, templates, layout and the overall design for your website. Once ready to service the visitors with the relevant content, sign up for Google Adsense, which when appear on your on your website and clicked on by visitors, help you make money. The more traffic you get on your website, the more will be the potential for higher earnings.</font></div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">3. Affiliate marketing</font></div><div><font size="4">Once your website is up and running, opt for affiliate marketing by allowing companies to insert web links on to your site. This is like a symbiotic partnership. When visitors to your site buy products or services by clicking on such links, you earn out from it.</font></div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">4. Surveys, searches and reviews</font></div><div><font size="4">There are several websites offering money to undergo online surveys, carry out online searches, and write reviews on products. To get the credit, one needs to disclose certain information to them including one's banking details. This is why you should use this route with utmost care. Some of them may even ask you to register with them before working on projects. The most important watch out in such projects is to stay away from websites offering money that appears too good to be true. Be careful while evaluating the reputation of the website as many of them could be a scam. Most sites promote businesses showing copies of cheque payments which may have been given to the middlemen only.</font></div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">5. Virtual assistantship</font></div><div><font size="4">Doing all the corporate stuff from one's home is what a virtual assistant (VA) does. VAs basically work remotely with their clients and manage the aspects of their business that they are too busy to handle themselves. When you work as a virtual assistant, you can choose to work as an employee or you can set up your own business.</font></div><div><font size="4"><br /></font></div><div><font size="4">VAs are skilled, home-based professprofessionals that offer companies, businesses, and entrepreneurs administrative support. Some of the major areas of work includes making phone calls, email correspondence, Internet research, data entry, scheduling appointments, editing, writing, book keeping, marketing, blog management, proofreading, project management, graphic design, tech support, customer service, event planning, and social media management.</font></div><div><br /></div><div><font size="6">6. Language translating</font></div><div><font size="4">Knowing a language other than English may even help you earn some extra bucks. There are several websites that offer translation projects that require translating a document from one language into another. This may include Spanish, French, Arab, German, or any other language to or from English.</font></div><div><font size="4"><br /></font></div><div><font size="4">For many, this can make the task rather time-consuming and therefore they hire translators available online from anywhere across the globe. Several websites such as Freelancer.in, Fiverr.com, worknhire.com or Upwork.com offers you a platform to be a professional translator.</font></div><div><font size="4"><br /></font></div>Zoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01410801592854242780noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-562210503264653825.post-42097585508975428362020-07-25T11:42:00.000-07:002020-07-25T11:42:53.624-07:00Chutney that boost your immunity<h2 class="synopsis" style="background-color: white; font-family: "droid serif", serif; font-size: 18px; font-weight: 400; line-height: 26px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 15px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzjrmOxVnwTT9bK6jJhqI4j1vozApqWGibrZceh5jYqJ_eHFbx5wGb9bv04qEfIOqmqqeORrWPRVBrVgpth2iv0hCEtLfpb6vnoxOVB9HzWOOg4Zt5Atds7C4JfnI0HebnhS7SXv2w9MgG/s1200/immunity-booster-chutney-1200.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzjrmOxVnwTT9bK6jJhqI4j1vozApqWGibrZceh5jYqJ_eHFbx5wGb9bv04qEfIOqmqqeORrWPRVBrVgpth2iv0hCEtLfpb6vnoxOVB9HzWOOg4Zt5Atds7C4JfnI0HebnhS7SXv2w9MgG/s320/immunity-booster-chutney-1200.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Ensure you are including immunity boosters in your daily diet.
